Building the Future with Hempcrete
At Southern Hemp, we are passionate about delivering high-quality, comfortable, and sustainable hempcrete walls for homes and businesses across Victoria and Southern NSW. Since 2014, we’ve been pioneering the use of hempcrete in over 20 projects, helping Australians enjoy healthier, more energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly spaces.
With over a decade of hands-on experience, David Brian, the driving force behind Southern Hemp, is one of Australia’s most trusted hempcrete installers. From design flexibility to unmatched insulation performance, we combine expertise, the right tools and premium materials to bring your dream sustainable home to life.

Why Choose Hemp?
Incredible Thermal Insulation
Hempcrete provides superior thermal performance, helping you save up to 80% on energy costs. Enjoy cool summers, warm winters, and lower bills all year round.
Fire, Termite, Mould & Pest Resistant
Peace of mind comes standard. Hempcrete is naturally resistant to fire, pests, and mould, keeping your home safe and durable for generations to come.
Breathable Walls for Healthy Living
Hempcrete regulates temperature and humidity, creating a comfortable and non-toxic environment. Say goodbye to stuffy, unhealthy air and hello to breathable, fresh interiors.
Carbon Negative Construction
Building with hemp doesn’t just reduce your carbon footprint—it actively absorbs CO2. Southern Hemp helps you build homes that are part of the solution to climate change.
Flexible, Organic Designs
Whether you prefer a clean, modern look or more rounded, natural curves, hempcrete adapts to your vision. Our expertise and formwork ensure that your home looks stunning while functioning flawlessly.

Supporting the Growth of Industrial Hemp
At Southern Hemp, we don’t just build with hemp—we help grow the future of hemp farming in Victoria and Southern NSW. We work with local farmers to educate and support the cultivation of industrial hemp, offering insights into crop licensing, irrigation, and equipment.
Hemp Farming Basics:
- Planting: Stalk crops (September-October) & seed crops (October-November).
- Requirements: Well-drained sandy loam soil, irrigation, nitrogen-rich fertilizers, and access to drying facilities.
- Licensing: Hemp cultivation requires approval from the Department of Agriculture.
By promoting sustainable farming practices, we’re building a robust local supply chain that benefits both the environment and the economy.
A Healthier, Greener Future Starts Here
Whether you’re building your forever home or a sustainable commercial space, Southern Hemp brings expertise, care, and innovation to every project. Let’s create a space that’s not only stunning but better for your health, your wallet, and the planet.
